Telomere Distribution in Human Sperm Heads and Its Relation to Sperm Nuclear Morphology: A New Marker for Male Factor Infertility?

چکیده

Infertility is a problem affecting an increasing number of couples worldwide. Currently, marker tests for male factor infertility are complex, highly technical and relatively subjective. Up to 40% cases currently diagnosed as idiopathic therefore, there clear need further research into better ways diagnosing it. Changes in sperm telomere length have been associated with closely linked DNA damage fragmentation, which also known be related infertility. However, distribution parameter thus far underexplored marker. Here, we assessed morphological parameters nuclei fertile control infertile cohorts. In addition, used 2D 3D fluorescence situ hybridization (FISH) compare between these two groups. Our findings indicate that the cohort were, on average, 2.9% larger area showed subtle differences head height width. Telomeres were mainly distributed towards periphery cohort, diminishing signals center nuclei. Sperm males, however, had more nuclei, finding supported by imaging. We conclude that, development, both morphology may prove useful investigative tools fertility clinic.

Sperm counts and sperm sex ratio in male infertility patients.

In recent years, investigators have noted a trend toward a declining proportion of male births in many industrialized nations. While men bear the sex-determining chromosome, the role of the female partner as it pertains to fertilization or miscarriage may also alter the gender ratio. We attempted to determine a man's secondary sex ratio (F1 generation) by directly examining the sex chromosomes ...

The effect of sperm morphology on IUI outcome in cases with unexplained and male factor infertility

Background: Although intrauterine insemination (IUI) is one of the most common methods which is used for male factor and unexplained infertility, the relative influence of various semen parameters on the likelihood of a successful outcome is controversial. Several semen parameters have been evaluated as predictors of a successful outcome with intrauterine insemination. Objective: To evaluate th...

Imprisonment-associated sperm clumping and male infertility.

OBJECTIVE This observational, retrospective study investigated infertility among Iraqi men who had been long-term prisoners of war. METHODS Routine seminal fluid analyses were undertaken in former prisoners with suspected infertility attending the Ramadi Infertility Clinic, Ramadi, Iraq; semen samples were also microscopically evaluated in these patients. RESULTS In 16 out of 38 patients (...
